Beauty and the Beast

This is Meredith Bell, from Pennsylvania. Her bass player was a little over eager for the show, and broke his strap, forcing him to play sitting down, or in other odd positions. Here is Mrs. Bell comforting him.
If you get a chance, look her up, she's got a heck of a set of lungs on her.

Ok, so I've been away for a bit

Many things have occured since I last posted, I got a new job, went on vacation, all that jazz. I went back to Niagara Falls area for Canada Day, hoping to get some good pics of the area. The windows int he hotel room wouldn't open, so I tried to shoot through them for a dawn shot. This is the result. I'm not sure how I feel about it, the tinting was really captured by the camera, even though it wasn't that obvious to my eyes.

Anyway, a ton of things to upload and post here, enjoy!

...And now for something completely different!

So I have a set of studio lights I used extensively with my Fuji S2 Pro and I knew all the settings to get proper exposure. But recently I sold my Fuji and hadn't yet worked with the lights on my Nikon D1x.
A friend approachd me and asked if I would take some pictures of his girlfriend for him. So I dug out the lights, set things up as per the Fuji, and started shooting.
However, the results, straight from the camera here, were unexpected. Not sure how I managed such High Key looks, but I like the effect.

Accident

I was loading my Nikon N4004 with a new roll of film, when it jammed (it's an autoloader and on occasion, it does this) on first feed.
Normally it's simply a matter of opening up the back and re-seating the film. In this case, I had to advance the feeder a bit, and then close the back.
Once closed, I pressed the shutter button to begin the autoload process, and it snaps off 4 shots. Normally, this would get me to te start of the roll, but in this case, it was +1 and I accidentally took this shot.
I liked the way the accident turned out, so I'm presenting it to you. Typical sepia tone that I get from having c41 process film (the Ilford I love so much) done at the local 1 hour joint, but I'm starting to like the effect.
