Helper

I missed what this scene was about, but it was clear that Death was behind her, picking her up and lifting her away from all her earthly troubles. Little too much red for my tastes, but not much I could do about that, the scene required it.

Brave

According to Wikipedia, Emilie has had a very rough life, and uses her music to excise the demons. She's a very brave girl for putting her personal problems out there in front of strangers, for all to see and hear. You can see the emotions play across her face in this shot, she was singing about her time in a mental ward, and the difficulties of getting out of there intact.

Using PhotoShop Here

When shooting a concert, some details are lost while caught up in the moment. The lead singer for Doom Syndicate (awesome name by the way) pictured here, for example, has a rather large hole in his pants in a rather revealing place. I didn't notice it until working with the pics in post. Couldn't show that without some adjustment, so parts of his pants are blurred out. Hopefully he won't mind.

Model Monkey

I don't remember taking this picture, but then again I took so many at the zoo I was bound to run across one or two I'd forgotten about.
The monkey looks very shy, which I think adds to the strength of the shot.

Lost

I understand our team is still in the running for the playoffs, but not last night, as you can see on the faces of the players.
A rare PhotoShop for me, I washed the colour out, to increase emotion from the scene.

Faded

The saturation here was toned way down, otherwise nothing was done to the image, I felt it conveyed what it needed to as is.

Metal

Somewhere down the journal is a near idental shot with normal colouration. Feel free to compare and contrast.
I think Google scrambles the image names here, but for lack of anything else to call it, I named the picture 'hallowed be thy name' so that's where the metal title comes from.

Visitation

Again, being unseasonably lovely weather this weekend, I went to the big cemetery here i town. I've been here before and got plenty of great (ahem) images so I didn't want to rehash what I'd already taken but instead further explore the emotions these images could evoke.
The following shots were taken in late afternoon, you can just see the moon in a few and as shot, they were almost too cheerful, with the sky being an azure blue and the trees there still holding green.
Adjustments were required to bring the images more inline with the sombre setting.

Thataway

Odd that this ornate ironwork coach wan't a weathervane, but it made for a great image all the same. I used my 17mm on this one, to get a bit of the background farm and area in the picture.

Idea

This was the tractor in its original colour, the nose logo too faded to be a detail properly, but the overall impression still worked. The keys were still in it, as it waiting for the owner to return it to use soon.

Tractor

I love old decayed things. They have a sense of history about them, a presence that isn't equalled in the modern age. Thus I'm always on the lookout for wrecks, ruins or abandoned things on my photography jaunts. I was especially lucky with this tractor and made several shots and several scenes with it.

Victory!

Also her first jump, and was she ever happy, after the landed that is. I spoke with her as shewas getting suited up, and she was having serious second thoughts about doing this. However, she was the head of a fundraising organization there that day, so she pretty much had to go.
As you can see, she was happy after the landing, so all's well that ends well.

Bagman

Of course, not all the people had perpetual smiles on their faces, you had guys like this who were clearly exhausted after jumping and cleaning up, all day long.
This image hasn't been re-touched as far as the neon colours go, they really were that bright and garish.

Smiles

As the image so clearly demonstrates, there were a lot of happy divers at the meet. She had just returned from her very first jump and the emotions are plainly obvious.
I couldn't have picked a better day to go shooting. Bright blue sky, wispy white clouds and plenty of afternoon sun.
Forgot the sunscreen so I ended up looking like a roast lobster, but all in the name of photography...
