More from there

All of the shots from there are taken handheld, or braced against something. I had brought a tripod but I decided it would be too clumsy to carry. I should have brought it anyway, as I missed some good shots by not using it, but I can always go back.

Waterfall

Always wanted the 'cotton candy' like effect of flowing water, but really hadn't been able to get that look until now. Circular polarizer to the rescue!

I could really slow down the shutter time without losing the colour of the surrounding area with thie polarizer. Now I just have to find one for my wider lenses

Curves

I read up a bit on how to shoot waterfalls before heading out there, and with such a nice day, most of the morning/early afternoon shots were less than impressive. I had to wait until the sun went behind the trees to get the really good depth and time images.

Through the looking glass

From the hotel room I was able to get a grand view of the area. Shooting through glass can be tricky, but with the advice of a forum, I was able to minimize the issues.

The Falls are lit up at night by huge and powerful Arc Lights that slowly changed colour.

This is shot with my new Sigma 10-20mm lens at 30 second exposure (on a tripod obviously)

I liked how the colours turned out.

Flowing

Not to forget my trusty Yashicas, I took the D out on a sunny day and captured this slow moving river. The instant image wasn't as pleasing as I had hoped, so I reshot it as a time lapse, which I have posted here. The trees are fuzzy from the wind and the long (in camera times) exposure, but the river has a pleasing effect.

Was playing with timelapse, I was a passenger in a car running through town at dusk. This one is my favourite. Taken with a Samsung GX-1L, a Pentax *istD clone, but better and cheaper (go figure)
